1. Introduction

Welcome to SmiteSource ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website smitesource.com and use our SMITE 2 statistics, community, account-linking, and tournament services.

Our Terms of Service govern your use of SmiteSource. This policy is separate and explains how we handle personal information when you use the service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or use our services, we may collect the following information:

  • Account Information: When you sign in using Google OAuth or one-time passcode (OTP), we receive your name and email address. If you choose to link Twitch in account settings, we may receive basic Twitch profile details for linking purposes.
  • Connected Account Information: When you choose to connect Discord, Steam, Epic Games, or Xbox, we receive the account identifier and limited profile details needed for the feature you requested. For Epic Games, we request basic profile access and use the returned Epic account identifier to confirm account ownership and locate the matching SMITE 2 player profile. We do not retain the Epic access token after the linking request is complete.
  • Profile Information: Username, display name, and any optional profile details you choose to provide.
  • User-Generated Content: Builds, tier lists, comments, and other content you create and submit to our platform.
  • Communications: Information you provide when contacting us for support or feedback.
  • Promotion Entry Information: If you enter a SmiteSource promotion, we may collect your legal name, date of birth, phone number, mailing address, account email, eligibility confirmations, and related winner-verification information.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically collect:

  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URLs, and navigation patterns.
  • IP Address: Used for security, fraud prevention, and approximate geographic location.

4. Advertising

Playwire LLC manages some or all advertising on our website and may manage advertising in our mobile app. If Playwire publisher advertising services are used, Playwire LLC may collect and use certain aggregated and anonymized data for advertising purposes.   • Public Content: Builds, tier lists, and other content you create may be publicly visible to other users.

  • Connected Platforms: When you ask us to connect an account, we exchange the limited information needed with that platform to authenticate the request and complete the connection.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
  • Protection of Rights: We may share information to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, or that of our users or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We may retain certain information for legitimate business purposes or as required by law.

Promotion records may be retained for the period reasonably needed to administer the promotion, verify winners, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal, accounting, or tax obligations.

A connected account association remains until you unlink it or delete your SmiteSource account. Where an OAuth flow is used, temporary authorization codes and access tokens are used only to complete the connection and are not retained by SmiteSource after that request finishes.

When you use our verified account deletion flow, we remove your account, email, sign-in methods, and public profile. You can delete your published builds and tier lists or keep them without an account or profile attached. Draft tier lists are deleted, and retained content can no longer be edited. We privately retain your former username so it cannot be automatically claimed by another account. The reserved username is not displayed publicly.

7. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, including California and other jurisdictions, you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Permanently delete your personal information and account using an ownership-verified request.
  • Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications or personalized advertising through our privacy choices page.
  • Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

If you are accessing our website from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
